The Importance of Sunglasses
Sun exposure can not only cause irritated, red eyes and general discomfort, but it can also cause permanent damage. When your eyes are exposed to intense, bright light from the sun, retinal damage can occur, even if the exposure is brief. The sun’s UV rays have been linked to the development of cataracts and age-related macular degeneration.
All sunglasses are not created equal. If your sunglasses say “UV protection” without a specific percentage, they may not be providing you with sufficient defence from UV damage.
